General Summary and Purpose:

VCM is a fast-growing, multi-billion dollar publicly traded company in the asset management business. As we continue to scale our operations and expand our market presence, we are seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff to partner directly with our CEO and other members of our executive team in driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence.

As the Chief of Staff, you will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO and other members of the executive team, acting as a force multiplier to enhance leadership effectiveness and organizational impact. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and executive presence to navigate the complexities of a high-growth public company environment. This role is on site five days per week in San Antonio, Texas and will require travel on a as needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop, refine, and execute enterprise-wide strategic initiatives
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on key priorities, ensuring seamless execution across business units
  • Lead special projects and strategic workstreams that require CEO-level attention and coordination
  • Translate strategic vision into actionable plans with clear accountability and measurable outcomes
  • Serve as a thought partner on critical business decisions, providing analysis, insights, and recommendations
Operational Excellence
  • Optimize the CEO's time and priorities, managing complex calendar dynamics and competing demands
  • Coordinate executive leadership team activities, including meeting cadence, agenda development, and follow-through
  • Establish and monitor KPIs that track progress against strategic objectives
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and drive process improvements across the organization
Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with Board members, investors, and key external stakeholders
  • Serve as a proxy for the CEO in select meetings and represent the office in cross-functional forums
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion
  • Facilitate communication flow between the CEO and the executive leadership team, business units, and employees
  • Coordinate responses to ad-hoc requests from the Board

You Have:
  • A Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred from a high-quality institution
  • Experience in strategy and execution in financial services
  • Demonstrated experience in high-growth environments, preferably within public companies
  • A proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact
  • Experience navigating public company requirements, investor relations, and Board dynamics
  • Obsessive attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Proven ability to drive results through influence rather than authority
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Investment management expertise or ability to quickly develop domain knowledge

Target Compensation:

The target base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $ 198,850.

Salaries are determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications. Victory Capital Management operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.

Victory Capital Management’s total compensation package includes the opportunity for annual compensation bonuses, and/or commissions, restricted stock and a generous benefits package.
