Position Summary:
We are looking for two motivated and dependable Summer Camp Support Interns to join our STEM Empowerment Summer Camp team. This is a two-week paid internship opportunity for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in STEM, youth development, and gaining real-world experience. Interns will play a key role in supporting STEM activities, managing supplies, and receiving mentorship from our program leadership and college interns, all while helping create a positive, encouraging environment for middle school participants.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist with hands-on STEM activities (setup, cleanup, and participant support)
● Help manage and organize camp supplies and materials
● Support camp enrichment activities, snack distribution, and activity stations
● Receive mentorship and coaching from Building Bridges, Inc. leadership and staff
● Serve as a positive role model to campers
● Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning space
Qualifications:
● Rising high school junior, senior, or graduating senior
● Interest in STEM, education, or youth leadership
● Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
● Reliable and able to work well with a team
● Able to commit to the full duration of the internship
Details:
● Internship Dates: June 15–June 29, 2026 (Monday–Friday)
● Hours: 20 hours/week
● Location: Southside STEM Station, Chicago, IL
● Stipend: $600 total (based on 40 hours total @ $15/hour)
● Supervision & Mentorship Provided by Camp Director & Program Coordinator
