The Junior Electrical Estimator supports the estimating team by assisting in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, gathering pricing from vendors and subcontractors, and helping develop competitive project bids. The position is ideal for someone beginning their career in electrical construction, engineering, or estimating who wants to grow within the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing electrical cost estimates for commercial, residential, and/or industrial construction projects.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical materials, equipment, and labor.
• Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Support senior estimators in compiling complete bid packages.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing, and bid documentation.
• Assist with preparing bid proposals and scope letters.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
• Help track historical cost data for future estimating accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and purchasing teams as needed.
• Ensure estimates comply with company standards and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Equivalent electrical field experience may be considered.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Google sheets and basic computer skills.
• Experience with estimating software (such as Electrical Bid Manager) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
