The Opportunity: Color Your CareerAre you a pro who knows that a perfect finish starts long before the brush touches the wall? Red Grasshopper is looking for an experienced Painter to handle high-end residential refreshes and light commercial projects throughout San Antonio.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in clean lines, zero overspray, and a workspace that is left spotless. If you have the skill to transform a space and the work ethic to back it up, we have a ladder waiting for you.
Key ResponsibilitiesExpert Preparation: Mastery of masking, taping, drop-cloth placement, sanding, scraping, and caulking. You know that prep is the foundation of every five-star review.
Surface Repair: Minor drywall repair, patching, and texture matching (orange peel, knockdown) to ensure a seamless finish.
Professional Application: High-level proficiency with brushes, rollers, and airless sprayers for both interior and exterior surfaces.
Specialty Finishes: Experience with cabinet painting, trim staining, and high-durability commercial coatings.
Site Management: Maintaining a clean, safe job site and communicating progress clearly with the project lead.
The Experience: 2+ years of professional painting experience in residential or commercial settings.
Coating Chemistry: Knowledge of different paint bases (oil vs. water), primers, and which products work best for San Antonio's humidity and heat.
Equipment Mastery: Ability to operate and maintain professional-grade sprayers and power washers.
Bilingual Communication: English and Spanish fluency is a major plus! Being able to communicate with diverse crews and homeowners is highly valued in the San Antonio market.
Physical Ability: Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and in various weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs .
Competitive San Antonio Wages: $22–$30 per hr starting rate based on your skill set.

Your day starts at a residential site in North Central SA. After a quick sync with the team in English and Spanish , you get to work masking off a custom kitchen for a cabinet refinish. You spend the morning prepping surfaces to a "glass-smooth" finish. After a lunch break, you move to the exterior to run an airless sprayer on a commercial storefront, ensuring even coverage and zero mess. You end the day by cleaning your equipment and walking the site to ensure the lines are sharp and the client is happy.
