Marshfield Clinic - Archive is seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join the Healthcare & Medical Services department within Marshfield Clinic Health System – Marshfield Children’s, a Wisconsin-based pediatric care provider within a large, integrated health system. In this patient-first, collaborative environment, you will perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on infants, children, adolescents, and occasionally adults, following strict safety, infection control, and identification protocols. The Phlebotomist accurately labels, processes, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis, ensures proper handling, transport, and storage, and uses electronic health record and laboratory information systems to document procedures, verify orders, and track specimens. You will interact closely with nurses, providers, lab staff, and support teams across inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and specialty services, helping to coordinate timely collections that support quality diagnostic testing and excellent pediatric care. Compassion, clear communication, and a child- and family-centered approach are essential in this role. The Phlebotomist explains procedures in age-appropriate ways, eases anxiety for patients and families, and uses comfort and distraction techniques when working with children. You will follow all regulatory and accreditation standards, maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition, and monitor supplies to ensure readiness for routine and urgent collections. The position requires strict adherence to HIPAA and patient privacy standards, as well as compliance with institutional policies for safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance.
