Description:

Metiri is a trusted analytical lab delivering environmental testing, and we're looking for a Project Management Assistant to join our team!

The Project Management Assistant provides administrative support to Project Managers, assisting with projects related to lab analysis, environmental compliance, quality assurance, and customer relations and supporting the company’s mission to promote environmental health and sustainability.

Project Coordination

  • Facilitate the seamless coordination of multiple concurrent environmental projects from inception to completion.
  • Assist with the development of project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with Project Managers to proactively identify problems and mitigate risk.

Relationship Management

  • Demonstrate responsiveness in client interactions, ensuring transparent updates, managing expectations, and addressing any project-related inquiries.
  • Foster long-term professional relationships with clients by providing exceptional service, maintaining confidentiality, and anticipating future needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including lab analysts, quality assurance, field technicians, procurement, finance, and leadership to prevent project delays and ensure project success.

Quality Assurance

  • Assist with regular quality control checks and audits on project deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g. ISO, EPA, or relevant local and federal regulations), as assigned.
  • Review and interpret data, identifying trends and making recommendations for corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Participate in regular training and performance improvement initiatives to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a customer support role required.
  • Experience in an environmental laboratory or similar testing environment preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of industry standards, such as EPA regulations, ISO, or ASTM standards.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information, and meet time-sensitive productivity standards.
  • Exceptional professional communication skills, including: reading and listening to understand directives, feedback, or complex issues; writing and speaking clearly and persuasively to share information, resolve customer requests, manage difficult conversations, and promote long-term client relationships.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and navigate routine hazards of the road.

Work environment:

  • Hybrid office and laboratory environment with potential exposure to chemicals and testing equipment.
  • Requires adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • May involve occasional lifting of office supplies (up to 15 lbs).

Travel requirements:

  • May require occasional travel to client sites, off-site labs, and regulatory agencies.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record for the past three (3) years.
