Location: Middlesex County, NJ (Hybrid Schedule) Overview Our client, a well-established commercial real estate organization with properties throughout Middlesex County, NJ, is seeking a Property Accountant with 2+ years of public accounting experience supporting real estate clients . This role offers a hybrid schedule and significant exposure to commercial property accounting and direct client interaction. The ideal candidate comes from a public accounting firm with a strong real estate client base and is comfortable serving as a day-to-day point of contact for property owners and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly financial statements for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and month‑end close Prepare and analyze budget‑to‑actual variance reports Assist with CAM, real estate tax, and operating expense reconciliations Support year‑end close, audit, and tax workpapers Interface directly with commercial real estate clients , lenders, and internal property management teams Respond to client accounting inquiries and provide financial support as needed Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Collaborate with property managers regarding financial performance and reporting Qualifications 2+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on real estate clients (required) Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and financial reporting Prior client‑facing/account management experience in a public accounting environment Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Proficiency with Excel; experience with property management systems a plus Strong communication skills and attention to detail Why This Role High visibility and direct client interaction Exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial properties Opportunity to transition public accounting experience into a stable, long‑term real estate role Competitive salary within the range of $90,000 - $110,000.
