UCHealth is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to join our Acute Care Medical Specialties Unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a key member of a patient-centered, nonprofit health care system, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions. In this role, you will complete comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments safely, and closely monitor patients’ responses. You will collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, support safe transitions, and ensure excellent patient outcomes. The RN in the Acute Care Medical Specialties Unit will use critical thinking and clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient status, respond to emergencies, and escalate care appropriately. You will perform and interpret routine patient monitoring, manage IV therapy, operate and troubleshoot common acute-care equipment, and maintain accurate, timely electronic health records. Education and communication are key aspects of this position; you will partner with patients and families to explain diagnoses, medications, and care plans, reinforce discharge instructions, and advocate for patient needs while respecting cultural, linguistic, and individual differences. UCHealth fosters an innovative, diverse, and inclusive environment, and you will be encouraged to participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice projects, and unit-based councils. As a Registered Nurse with UCHealth, you will have access to ongoing training, professional development, and opportunities for advancement, including support for specialty certifications and continuing education. This role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed in a fast-paced acute care setting, consistently demonstrating compassion, integrity, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and patient-centered care.
