The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the community during evening and overnight hours. This role includes patrolling both the interior and exterior of the property, monitoring for and reporting any suspicious activity, and providing assistance to residents, visitors, and team members. The Security Guard helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment while protecting the well-being of the community and its residents.
Key responsibilities include conducting regular inspections and patrols of the community premises, both interior and exterior; monitoring and controlling property access, including verification of individuals and vehicles; authorizing entry in accordance with community protocols; observing, documenting, and reporting any suspicious activity or behaviors; ensuring all exits, doors, and windows are properly secured; monitoring surveillance systems for unusual activity; responding promptly and effectively to alarms or emergency situations; providing assistance to residents, visitors, and team members as needed; preparing and submitting detailed reports on daily surveillance activities; documenting and escalating all incidents of suspicious activity; complying with all Cogir Senior Living policies and procedures; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, meeting all state licensing requirements for security personnel, previous security or related experience, strong observational and problem-solving skills, the ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergencies, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, physical ability to patrol premises and respond quickly when needed, and willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. Must be at least 18 years old.
