Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to collaborate closely with the Director of Accounting to lead the month-end close process. This role ensures that the Accounting Department meets close timelines, maintains data accuracy standards, and addresses cross-company needs. The Senior Accountant oversees general ledger activity, interprets financial records and statements for management, analyzes financial data to prepare reports and budget forecasts, and manages records related to assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities across affiliated entities. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $110,000 to $135,000 per year.

• Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting policies.
  
  
• Prepare accounting-related entries for posting in the accounting system and review/approve journal entries for accuracy.
  
  
• Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analyses, and accrual calculations.
  
  
• Provide guidance and training to accounting team members, fostering their development.
  
  
• Collaborate with the Director of Accounting to ensure adherence to company policy and accurate expense and revenue recording for management reports and financial statements.
  
  
• Oversee customer accounts receivables reconciliations related to utility billing.
  
  
• Support the Director of Accounting in tracking and internal collaboration for borrowing base covenant submission.
  
  
• Implement process improvements to enhance team productivity and accuracy.
  
  

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), particularly with large data volumes in Excel.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar field.
  
  
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
  
  
• CPA highly preferred.
