Sports Marketing Fellowship — Athlete Wellness Collective (AWC)
Location: Miami, FL (on-site & remote)
Duration: 18 weeks (fixed start and end date)
Hours: 15–20 hrs/week, flexed around academic schedules
Compensation: Unpaid. AWC covers reasonable event-related travel and meal expenses, and will support fellows in pursuing academic credit through their school where eligible — this is not required to apply.
Athlete Wellness Collective (AWC) operates at the intersection of sport, wellness, and human performance, creating systems that support sustainable athlete development. Through Athlete Wellness Labs, AWC translates data, research, and applied practice into practical tools and frameworks used in real-world training environments. The organization integrates sport, fitness, mindset, nutrition, and recovery into cohesive performance solutions for athletes, coaches, and organizations. AWC is committed to bridging performance science with on-the-ground application, turning insights into measurable, usable, and enduring systems that enhance overall performance.
AWC is an early-stage startup, so fellows should expect a small, fast-moving team, direct access to leadership, and the chance to see how a company gets built from the ground up — priorities shift quickly and no two weeks look the same.
This is a structured, mentored learning program, not a stand-in for a marketing employee. Fellows rotate through AWC's core marketing functions over 18 weeks, with defined learning objectives, regular mentor check-ins, and a capstone project at the end.
- Support the planning and execution of marketing initiatives that highlight AWC programs, events, and athlete-focused storytelling and content
- Assist with campaign development and coordinate on-site activations
- Engage with athletes and partners, and gather feedback to improve participant experience
- Collaborate with internal teams to shape messaging and maintain consistent communication across channels
- Support on-site event logistics and community engagement
- Help monitor basic performance metrics and prepare reports
- Contribute ideas that grow AWC's visibility in the sports and wellness community
- Strong customer service instincts — able to build positive, professional relationships with athletes, partners, and community members
- Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort engaging a range of stakeholders
- Emerging team-leadership ability, with experience collaborating toward shared goals in a group setting
- Foundational interest or coursework in marketing or communications, ideally in a sports, wellness, or related context
- Genuine interest in sport, human performance, and athlete development, with a willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment
- Strong organization and time management, with reliability in meeting deadlines
- Able to work on-site in Miami, FL, including occasional evenings or weekends for events and activations
- Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a degree in marketing, sports management, communications, or a related field. Enrolled students may be eligible to pursue academic credit for this fellowship through their school — AWC is happy to help coordinate that, though it isn't required to apply
- A structured, mentored 18-week curriculum spanning AWC's core marketing functions
- Direct access to AWC's founder and leadership team
- Real, portfolio-worthy work, including a capstone project you own start to finish
- Event access and exposure to AWC's athlete, practitioner, and partner network
- Optional support pursuing academic credit through your school
Submit your application via LinkedIn, or email your resume and any writing/content samples to ***email_hidden*** with the subject line "Sports Marketing Fellowship Application." Let us know what draws you to AWC and one idea you'd bring to the role.
This fellowship is unpaid. It is a learning-focused program and does not guarantee employment at AWC upon completion, though strong fellows may be considered for future paid opportunities as the organization grows.
