The Family Engagement and Empowerment Division (FEED) California Department of Social Services are looking for an Child Nutrition Consultant (CNC) who can perform the administrative reviews (ARs) of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) which are mandated federally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The CNC will complete the compliance areas of the ARs within child care centers, adult day care centers, emergency shelters, at-risk child care centers and day care home reviews to ensure state requirements and federal regulations are met. In addition, they will be involved with program followups, complaints, problematic and seriously deficient reviews. The CNC will organize, plan and complete the ARs within the established timeframes. They will train, educate and provide technical assistance to CACFP operators and stakeholders related to areas of the AR including at a minimum - meal counting, eligibility, enrollment, meal requirements and menus, recordkeeping to CACFP operators and stakeholders. This position requires at least 50 percent travel. Travel is expected within the local area region and throughout California.
