Job Overview

Operates equipment such as excavators, skid steers, forklifts, dump trucks, sweepers, flatbed trucks, tractors, mowers, etc. while performing duties which serve general property and race track maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury according to all relevant policies and procedures.
• Perform safety and maintenance checks to ensure the safety of the equipment and personnel.
• Maintain inventory of all necessary supplies.
• Advise the Facilities Supervisors of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
• Clean backside areas to maintain suitable appearance and sanitation standards or facility.
• Complete all work assignments on time and with accuracy.
• Be advised of the week-to-week work schedule and any changes made according to business needs.
• Follow the directives of all department SOPs and policies regarding uniforms, communications, and work duties.
• Responsible for carrying out all duties with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• NCCER or other equipment certification preferred
• Osha 10 preferred
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Requires acute visual perception abilities to accurately judge distances as well as a mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision and have good time management skills.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Requires a high energy individual with a positive attitude who can demonstrate good communication skills in a team environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.

Licenses, Certifications, Registration: Requires a Pari-Mutuel License. Requires a valid Florida Driver's License.
